In what comes as a huge sigh of relief for Hardik Pandya & KL Rahul, the BCCI has lifted the suspension handed out for making inappropriate comments on Koffee with Karan. All though it’s not all clear for them yet as the Committee of Administrators (COA) has asked the Supreme Court to appoint an ombudsman to investigate the matter.
Karan Johar had recently commented that he spent ‘sleepless nights’ and felt ‘responsible’ for the whole controversy. The fans have been divided but the duo has also been getting sympathy & support from some quarters of the cricketing community.
Former captain Mohammed Azharuddin said both of them had suffered enough & hoped now they can focus on their performances on the field.
Rahul Dravid said, “It is not that players did not make mistakes in the past. It is not that mistakes will not be made in the future despite our best efforts to educate the youth. But let us not overreact please.”
Harsha Bhogle also echoed Dravid’s comments and stressed on educating young players outside the field & the responsibilities that come with it.
Hardik Pandya is set to join Team India for the ongoing series in New Zealand & KL Rahul has been included in India A squad that is playing one day games against England Lions in Thiruvananthapuram.
