India’s newly appointed men’s hockey team coach Graham Reid on Monday took charge of the national camp in Bangalore and in his maiden address to the team asked the players to put the team first.
Reid arrived at Bangalore on April 20 and got down to business on Monday, meeting with the team for the first time at SAI center in Bangalore.
“The Turf here is world class. I addressed the players when I arrived and expressed my expectations as one unit, one team and that we always need to put the team first,” the 54-year old Australian said.
“We also spoke about the importance of trust and communication and to make sure that it is both ways.
“I am really glad that I also got to watch the 33 Junior Core group and being part of the National trials this morning which give me a good sense of talents that is available at the moment and that makes me feel very positive about the future,” he said.
FIH Men’s Series final in Bhubaneswar which is starting from June sixth is Reid’s first major assignment as the chief coach of Indian men’s hockey team.
