Massimiliano Allegri is to step down as Juventus coach at the end of the season after five years with the Italian champions.

The club’s official website stated, “Massimiliano Allegri will not be on the Juventus bench for the 2019-2020 season.
“The coach and the president, Andrea Agnelli will meet the media together at tomorrow’s press conference- Saturday 18 May, at 2 pm in the press conference hall of Allianz Stadium.”

Allegri has led Juventus to four successive league and cup doubles and two Champions League finals during his tenure in charge as the coach. After their disappointing Champions League quarter-final defeat to Ajax, in April, the Italian will continue to be in charge for Juventus’ final two Serie A matches of the season.

Juventus was considered among the favorites for Europe’s top competition following the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo at the start of the season, which was considered as a stepping stone to the success of the club with the arrival of Serie A Champions to the final in 2017.

The announcement of Friday confirmed the fact that Juventus will be looking for a new coach.
