Manchester United legend Gary Neville has it out at the board over the club’s recent woeful form. Their troubles seem never-ending as they slumped to another defeat yesterday evening at Newcastle. They have now made the worst start to a league campaign in 30 years.
The pundit believes the board’s poor planning is to be blamed for the current situation. He has pointed out some specific issues like poor recruitment & poor selection of managers. He added, “If you change direction as a board every two years, investing £250 million along the way in each manager, you’re going to have big problems.”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the fourth united manager since Sir Alex Ferguson who was followed by David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal & Jose Mourinho. The club has spent a lot of money since then but little stability or success to really show for it. They signed some exciting players this summer but Neville believes the red devils need to bring in another 5 or 6 top players to compete. He has urged the board to ‘hold their nerve’ and stick with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite the club’s poor start to the season.
After the international break United face the daunting task of playing league leaders Liverpool. The tie could not have come at the worst time for them.
