But the franchises have displayed a heavy amount of money splurging to steal the deal in the auction. The Indian T20 League auction observed the franchises spending inordinate sums on unproven, and erratic overseas players to fill voids in their teams. The auction was filled with payment records broken along the way.
Teams like Rajasthan broke the bank to buy the most expensive player, C. Morris for the premium amount of 16.25 Crores. This is the highest bid ever done for any player in the Indian T20 league auction. Among the uncapped players, K. Gowtham made it to the headlines by fetching a mammoth amount of 9.25 crores by team Chennai.
