The team from the national capital – Delhi Capitals – will be traveling to meet Lucknow Super Giants for their IPL 2023 opener on April 1 at the ‘Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’ Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
Having never won the competition before, Delhi Capitals are yet to find their footing in the tournament’s history books. They finished fifth in the 2022 season which indeed was a shocking run of form for R. Pant & company along with their entire fan base.
Delhi have an explosive batting department and were playing up to the expectations last season until they tanked their games. However, this season D. Warner and A. Patel are likely to be available for the entire season which surely boosts their team strength which is further backed up by a talented pool of players who will look to make amends this time around.
Delhi is placed in Group A alongside KKR, RR, MI, and LSG. The team will play the other five teams in Group B twice and then the remaining four matches against the teams in their own group once, thus making it a total of 14 league games.
