The Cricket Control Board of India, on Tuesday, announced the full fixtures list for the very first season of India’s flagship franchise women T20 tournament. There are a total of five participating teams – Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore & UP Warriorz.

The tournament starts with Gujarat Giants taking on Mumbai Indians in the opening fixture of the Indian Women’s T20 League on March 4 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

The 2023 season has a schedule of a total of 20 league games between all the five sides – Delhi, Gujarat, Mumbai, Bangalore & UP – along with two playoff fixtures which will be played in a 23 days time period to bring forth the champion.

On February 13, India’s S. Mandhana topped the charts in player auctions with INR 3.40 Crore value paid by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Captain of India, H. Kaur, was acquired by the Mumbai Indians for INR 1.80 Crore and many more such players have been sold at record-breaking prices.

Many foreign players are ready to handle their team responsibilities, Australian all-rounder A. Gardner and English all-rounder N. Sciver Brunt were sold to Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians for INR 3.20 Crore respectively. The final of Indian Women’s T20 League 2023 will be played at the Brabourne Stadium on 26th March.

There are only two grounds allocated for the ease of transport and comfort of the players, both the grounds are in located in Mumbai city of Maharashtra state in India. It is important that the event be conducted with the safety and security of all the players as well as the staff members for this historical competition to become a big success. The Indian Women’s T20 League is will be concluding at top 3 places and an elimination match will be played between 2nd and 3rd placed teams, winner of which will go on and face the league leader as the final game of the season.
