Indian Women’s T20 League is all set to become a reality as the much-awaited tournament is slated to take place from 4th March to 26th March 2023. There will be five teams participating in the inaugural season of the tournament, which includes Bengaluru, Delhi, Gujarat, Mumbai. and Uttar Pradesh and vying for the first title. A total of 23 matches, including two eliminators and the Final, will be played across 17 days at two venues in Mumbai – DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium.

The franchises have managed to get their targeted players on the squad for the inaugural season of the Indian Women’s T20 League. S. Mandhana is the most expensive player when Bengaluru acquired her services for 3.4 crores at the auction. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sold the media rights for the first franchised-based Indian Women’s League for 951 crores for five seasons. TATA:

TATA has acquired the title sponsorship rights for the Indian Women’s T20 League for five seasons from 2023 to 2027. The company will be promoting its two flagship brands – TATA Motors and TATA Capital. This sponsorship deal also includes branding and promotional rights as well as on-ground activations. This move by TATA emphasizes its commitment towards supporting women’s sports in India. TATA Group is one of India’s largest conglomerates, with products and services in 150 countries. The company has operations across Asia, Africa, America and the Middle East. TATA is already a title sponsor for the Indian Premier League (IPL) since 2022.

CEAT:

CEAT has tied up with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as an Official Strategic Time-Out Partner for the Indian Women’s T20 League for three seasons from 2023 to 2025. The company will spend INR 4 crore per season. CEAT is India’s multinational tyre manufacturing company owned by RPG group. The company has been involved in supporting cricket at various levels and is committed to driving the growth of the sport. CEAT is the bat sponsor of cricketers including R. Sharma, S. Iyer, S. Gill, A. Rahane, M. Agarwal and H. Kaur. From 2015-18, the company used to be Strategic Time-Out Partner for the IPL. CEAT’s association with the Indian Women’s T20 League is expected to give further impetus to women’s cricket in India.

Dream 11:

Dream 11 is one of the official partners for the Indian Women’s T20 League for three seasons from 2023 to 2025. It has been reported that the company will spend INR 6 crore per season. Dream 11 is one of India’s largest fantasy platforms with a user base of over 160 million in the country. The company has already been involved in the sports over the last five years and also they were the title sponsor of the 2020 Indian Premier League after Vivo pulled out of the season. As one of the official sponsors, Dream 11 will have the opportunity to promote women’s cricket at the highest level, while augmenting their own brand and recognition in the sport.

Amul:

Amul will be the beverage partner for the Indian Women’s T20 League for three seasons from 2023 to 2025. The company will be spending 2.5 crore and additional pouring costs per season. The fans will be provided with various products of Amul at the stadiums. Amul is the largest Indian dairy cooperative society that produces and markets a wide range of dairy products including cheese, milk, butter and ice-cream. As a beverage sponsor for the upcoming Indian Women’s T20 League, Amul is expected to provide hydration and energy to the players during the tournament.
