Manchester United veteran Ashley Young has been offered a one-year contract extension by the club in a bid to keep him at Old Trafford. There have been reports of interest from Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan who are also looking to strengthen their squad to fight for the Serie A title. He remains one of the last of the old guard who can share his experience with the youngsters & that is one of the reasons Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer would like to retain him.

Conte remains a big fan of United’s captain and wanted to sign him in the summer of 2017 when he was in charge of Chelsea. It is understood Conte is willing to offer Young an 18-month contract with the Italian side. Young moved to Old Trafford from Aston Villa in 2011 and has made 261 appearances for the club.

Meanwhile, United are reported to have set their sights on a move for prolific Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik after drawing a blank in their hunt for attacking reinforcements so far. United saw efforts to bring in Erling Haaland fail after the striker instead opted for a move for Borussia Dortmund, while Chelsea appears to have overtaken them in the race to sign Moussa Dembele from Lyon. Milik is currently in negotiations over a new deal with Napoli but, having rejected their initial offer to him, the publication claims United are ready to pounce if the striker continues to stall on penning an extension.
