Liverpool fans join with Bayern Munich against the cost of Championship League tickets and unfurled a banner at Anfield on Tuesday night.
Both sets of supporters untwined the signs across both sections of the lower Anfield Road end just after 50 minutes with rapturous applause from the rest of the crowd.
Premier League clubs unanimously agreed to keep the 30 pounds ($39.17) cap on away ticket prices for the next three seasons which doesn’t apply to the Champions League games.
The banners read, “Away ticket LFC 48£. FCB 55€”, “The Gr€€d knows no £imits” and also “Twenty is plenty”.
The third banner which read twenty is plenty refers to the Football Supporter’s Federation (FSF) initiative which urged the concerned authorities to cap ticket prices at 20 pounds.
In 2015 Bayern fans protested against Arsenal with a demonstration of a banner that read “64 pounds a ticket but without fans, football is not worth a penny.”
In 2016, Liverpool fans also protested against the ticket price by 15,000 fans walking out of Anfield in the 77th minute against Sunderland.
