India’s leading bowler Jasprit Bumrah is all set to make a new record. He is two scalps away from becoming the country’s leading wicket-taker in T20 Internationals.
The Mumbai Indians star man almost won India the match on Sunday with crucial wickets. While defending a modest total of 127, India was looking for a breakthrough. And he delivered with an outstanding over which saw two Australians depart with only 2 runs conceded.
Although Umesh Yadav faced a lot of criticism for not being able to defend 14 runs in the last over, Jasprit defended his colleague calling it an off day. He said, “This happens, death bowling is always difficult in any situation. It always goes both ways and it’s sometimes 50-50.”
Bumrah becomes the joint third fastest bowler internationally to get 50 wickets & only the second Indian bowler to reach that landmark. And it took him only 41 matches to get 51 wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin currently leads the way with 52.
India is looking to bounce back from the loss & level the series 1-1 in Bengaluru on Wednesday. And Bumrah’s role will be very crucial for the team. Will he create history and also help the team win? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section.
