Gentlemen’s game witnessed a bizarre incident on Saturday at thriller encounter of Afghanistan and Pakistan where fans got into a verbal fight leading to a slight banter. Security personals had to interfere to calm the situation below the Carnegie pavilion where the incident happens.

The rising geopolitical tension between two nation have led to such kind of fight and the heat was on even before the match began. Match tickets were completely sold out, some even trying to jump off the fence just to grab a seat. An hour before the game the tussle begins when supporters were throwing punches and some journalists who were recording this incident were also assaulted. The clash took a worse turn when aircraft carrying message ‘justice for Baluchistan’ that must have gone into some nerves surely.

“We are aware of some scuffles among fans and we are working with security personnel and local police of Yorkshire to maintain fun and harmony of the game,” said ICC spokesperson.

Headingly is under the flight path of Leeds Bradford airport and ICC said we do not condone any political message and we are in touch with local police to solve that aircraft issue. Before the match, Afghanistan Skipper Gulbadin Naib had stated that strong bilateral ties between nations can mend an out-of-cricket relationship.
