The defending champions Gujarat Titans will take on the mighty Chennai Super Kings in their opening match of the IPL 2023 season on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
The Gujarat franchise was the first team ever to clinch the trophy in its inaugural season. It was H. Pandya who spearheaded a young team that went the long mile in lifting the celebrated trophy. The onus will now be now on them to defend their title and they sure will face a stern test right from the beginning of the tournament.
With the likes of D. Miller, S. Gill, and K. Williamson in their batting order, the Gujrat team has formidable batting hands. To mix things up they have their skipper H. Pandya alongside R. Tewatia in the all-rounder department. The bowling attack will be led by M. Shami and spin master R. Khan.
The Gujarat Titans are placed in Group B alongside PBKS, SRH, CSK, and RCB. The team will play the other five teams in Group A twice and then the remaining four matches against the teams in their own group once, thus making it a total of 14 league games.
