J. Buttler (Rajasthan)
Despite not having made a huge impact in their narrow loss against Punjab it does hide the fact that Buttler is their key player to start the batting attack. Having scored 54 in the opening game against Hyderabad, he sure kicked off things in style and as expected. Once again the Rajasthan Royals will be playing in home advantage and Buttler will look to exploit the Hyderabad bowling attack that has somewhat lost its edge.
S. Samson (Rajasthan)
The skipper for Rajasthan is very well known for his skills with the bat and this season he has started well. Scoring 55 against Hyderabad and then notching and valiant 42 runs knock in the defeat against Punjab, he has sent out a clear message to the opposition that he is not to be taken lightly by any means. With over 3000 runs under his belt, he is a busy customer these days for the bowlers in the T20 format.
S. Hetmyer (Rajasthan)
Considering how lethal Rajasthan’s top-order batting lineup is Hetmyer only gets a handful of opportunities to do his part for the team. However, whenever he has stepped onto the field he has been a live-wire taking on opposition bowlers without any fear. He did score 314 runs last season which does show that he has all the makings of a good finishing batter. He almost clutched out the win for Rajasthan in a loss against Punjab but a silly runout cost him and his team.
A. Patel (Delhi)
A. Patel is not an easy customer to handle when he does come on to bat, he often is known for sweeping the stumps clean with his spin-bowling magic but the recent encounter against Gujarat clearly highlighted that he can bat well if needed. He scored 36 off 22 balls hitting shots across the pitch and leading his team to a respectable total. Talk about dept in the batting order, Patel is sure one of the instrumental player Delhi team.
D. Warner (Delhi)
Delhi might be having issues of their own this season as they have registered two losses already in the opening fixtures but one thing remains the same, D. Warner. Taking charge of the team this season, the Australian opener seems to be carrying the weight of the world on his shoulder at the moment. He scored 56 in the opening game, while he could only manage 37 in the defeat against Gujarat, evidently, it was the highest score by any Delhi batter. Perhaps a few young guns should step up the game as Warner can’t be carrying the team alone.
