Looks like the Ole Gunnar’s loyalty has changed. Nah, definitely not for Manchester United but for Norwegian side Molde. Apparently, the Norwegian side has agreed to ‘lend’ Solskjaer to United, indicating they expect him to return after Molde’s 2018 campaign ends. The new campaign is expected to start by the end of March.

While Manchester United’s interim has a different story to tell.
“I think I would have to sign a new contract there,” Solskjaer told Norwegian media while addressing questions regarding Molde.

Although Norwegian side announced on 3rd December that they have signed a three-year deal with Solskjaer, two weeks before Jose Mourinho’s sacking from United. Whereas, United made no such statements of Solskjaer returning to Molde once the Premier League season ends.

The reports surfaced that it will be a long-term partnership between Solskjaer and Manchester United soon after Red Devils escalated both in terms of performance and ranks at Old Trafford.

Sources reveal that the club had Solskjaer on loan and the contract was frozen soon after Solkjaer went to become United’s caretaker manager. It was supposed to resume once Solskjaer returns to Molde for the summer campaign.

“Now, maybe United just paid him out of the contract in order to be sure that they don’t need to pay any more money if they want him as the permanent manager.

“If those are the technicalities then United don’t need to pay any compensation at all.” Norwegian Journalist Arilas Berg Ould-Saada told BBC Radio 5 Live.

With the current form of United, it is hard to let go of Solskjaer from Manchester United as the Red Devils have claimed 10 wins and drawn 2 out of their 12 subsequent games. Their latest 3-2 victory came against Southampton, placing them on fourth and three points away from Tottenham.

They have also progressed through to the FA Cup quarter-finals, where they take on Wolves at Molineux later in March.
