Petra Kvitova enjoyed upward mobility in the WTA rankings to reach third after reaching the finals of the Dubai Championship.
Naomi Osaka retained her top spot in the list despite her shock exit to Kristina Mladenovic in her first match since the Melbourne Victory. Czech Kvitova who was ranked second after the Australian Open finals reached her third finals of the year before losing to Belinda Bencic on Saturday.
The 21-year-old Belinda Bencic’s dream push to win the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championship has seen her to climb the WTA ranking to 23. She claimed her first title since Toronto in 2015 and climbed 22 places to reach here.
Like Bencic Petra Kvitova also won a succession of three set duels, defeating Katerina Siniakova, Jennifer Brady and Hsieh Su-Wei before eventually losing at the last hurdle.
