The 11th match of 2018 Women’s World T20 will have Sri Lanka lock horns with Bangladesh each aiming for their maiden win.
After facing mighty England, Sri Lanka Women have to face a seven-wicket defeat against South Africa in their last match. With only 8-99 in 20 overs, the Lankan Women lost wickets at regular intervals. Creating obstacles for the Proteas, Sri Lankan bowling became a light of hope for their win after they sent Lee and Wolvaardt back to the dressing room. But soon their ray of light was switched off after South Africa’s experienced Kapp (38), van Niekerk (33) and du Preez (16) paced their way to target with ease. An unbeatable target is what Sri Lankan Women can’t deliver, which goes to prove that there’s quite a fault in their batting form.
While their opponents Bangladesh also didn’t garner a praiseworthy performance. In their first game, Bangladesh displayed a lackluster performance which led to defeat against Windies (by 60 runs). Later the defeat-streak continued with England by 7 wickets. Clearly, Bangladesh needs a touch-up from top-to-bottom in all their forms before facing their next opponent, then a win can be claimed.
