Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar will be sidelined for 10 weeks with a foot injury which will keep him out of both legs of Champions League last-16 matchup against Manchester United.

PSG confirmed the length of time the world’s most expensive footballer will miss out as he hobbled out of the Coupe de France clash with Strasbourg last week. An announcement that says,” conservative treatment of the injury to the fifth right metatarsal” will keep Neymar out until mid-April, adding to the club’s misery as Marco Verratti remains out due to injuries.

The news came out as a major setback for PSG, as Thomas Tuchel’s team will be without its talisman for the important clash against United which begins at Old Trafford from February 12th.

Neymar’s scheduled return timetable would see him miss at least 14 games and possibly more if PSG progress in the Coupe de France or reaches the last eight in Europe.

A PSG statement about this conclusion after much analysis says,” After detailed analysis by the specialists, a consensus was reached of conservative treatment of Neymar Jr’s injury to the fifth right metatarsal. PSG send its strongest support and encouragement to Neymar Jr to overcome this injury, with the courage and determination that the player has always shown.”
