Paris St Germain has said that they will take action against Neymar after the Brazilian forward failed to appear for the pre-season training. Neymar was scheduled to report back to the French club’s training ground on Monday but he was not present amidst the speculations of his move back to the previous club Barcelona.
PSG Sporting Director Leonardo is prepared to sell Neymar and when asked whether the 27-year-old had told him that he wants to leave, he replied,” It is clear to everyone. But in football, you say one thing one day and another next. I spoke to him and his entourage. The position is clear for everyone.
“Only one thing is certain. He is under contract with us for three years. And since we have not received an offer, there is nothing to discuss. But we have had a superficial contract. They said that they wanted to buy him but that we are not selling. We have not seen that Barcelona is in a position to buy him now. A move of this magnitude is not just an issue of emotion but a financial question. “
Regarding the absence of Neymar from the training, the club issued a statement which said, “PSG affirms that the player Neymar Jr was not present at the time and place required, without prior authorization from the club. PSG regrets this situation and will take appropriate action.”
