India’s batting legend Sachin Tendulkar rejects BCCI’s observation that his alleged conflict of interest falls under ‘tractable category’ blaming the parent body for the current situation which arose due to his role as the member of the Cricket Advisory Committee and an ‘icon’ of Mumbai Indians.
He has given a 13-point reply to BCCI ethics officer DK Jain and requested him to call the Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai and CEO Rahul Johri to ‘clarify their position.’
On his reply, Sachin says that by failing to deal with the points raised in his previous rejoinder, the COA made it clear that there is no conflict of interests, tractable or otherwise. In his previous rejoinder, Tendulkar has stated that Rule 38(4)(j) is not applicable to him as he is not part of the governance, management or employees of the Mumbai Indians.
Vinod Rai has already said that BCCI will not participate in any hearing conducted on this matter and the decision is now with Jain to ascertain Tendulkar and the CoA’s stand which sources say ‘can only be possible if all parties are heard in person and not through drafted emails.’
