Chelsea slumped to their fifth premier league defeat of the season away at Bournemouth. Joshua King, David Brooks & Charlie Daniels were on the scoresheet as Eddie Howe’s men put 4 past the Blues’ defense.

This marks their worst loss in 23 years as the club has now failed to score in three consecutive away matches for the first time since 2002. The loss took Chelsea down to fifth position level on points with Arsenal, but the gunners moving up on account of more goals scored.

A frustrated Sarri said “We had assumed that we learned a certain style of football, but the truth is we never did learn it and are paying the consequences. […] We haven’t even learned the most basic moves yet. We need to work on the basics, the primary foundations of my football, and only then will we try to change a few things.”

Reports indicate the boss kept his players in the dressing room for more than 40 minutes after the game, later explaining he wanted to “talk to them alone, without anybody”. All the coaches including Gianfranco Zola were left out of the room.

Sarri doesn’t have much time to get his house in order as Chelsea face a crowded & tricky fixture list in February.
