In a dress rehearsal for Tuesday’s final, Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan with a 4-wicket win. And in the process, Afghanistan’s 4 matches winning streak against them was also broken.
Shakib Al Hasan played a captain’s knock with a wicket & 70 runs on the board without being dismissed. The Afghans had put 138 runs on the board with Zazai top-scoring with 47 runs. Bangladesh was able to chase it down with an over to spare and lost 6 wickets while doing so.
The captain signed off saying, “The bowlers bowled well on that wicket and we needed someone to bat through the innings,” Shakib said. “And luckily today it was my day.”
The final is nicely set up for the two exciting teams to battle it out as Zimbabwe has already been eliminated. Can Afghanistan bounce back or will Bangladesh’s resurgence see them take the trophy? Tell us what you think in the comments section.
