American Simone Biles won the record-tying sixth all-around title at the U.S Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City, Missouri Sunday night and reasserted her position as the world’s unrivaled number one gymnast.

Biles became the first woman in nearly 70 years to accumulate six U.S senior women’s all-around gymnastics titles to come at par with Clara Schroth Lomady in 1952, who won her sixth title in the same year.

Biles adorned her glory with one more feat by becoming the first woman to land a triple twisting double somersault on floor exercise and the first to land a double-twisting double somersault off the balance beam. Both skills will be named after her if she could do them at October’s world championships. Simone Biles already has a one-floor tumbling pass and a vault named after her to her credit.

She was beaming with joy and pride as she landed who said later,” I was so relieved. Today I was very, very pleased.”

She is already a four-time Olympic gold medalist and will head to the next Tokyo Olympics as the prohibitive favorite. The latest victory at Kansas was seen as the start of Bile’s preparation for the 2020 Olympics.
