For the Fourth time, Simone Biles became the winner of the women’s all-around at the 2018 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship at Doha.

She recorded 57.491-besting the Silver medalist, Mai Murakami of Japan by an impressive 1.7 points. This victory made Biles, 21, the first woman to earn four all-around titles- winning every time she competed.

Biles has finished first for every meet she has entered since 2013 US Championship and though this match was much tighter than the usual, she emerged once again as the Champion. She broke the all-time record set by Belarusian male gymnast Vitaly Scherbo in 1996.

She displayed a spectacular performance during the qualifiers with her total of 60.965, 4.5 points clear of Hurd. With the standards always set high above, Biles is determined to push the sport forward. Even when battling the kidney stone which she jokingly called ‘the Doha pearl’, she did an outstanding show.

This is her third gold medal of the week so far at Doha, and this was also her seventeenth world championship medal overall.

Simone Biles is making her returns to the world stage in Doha after a well-deserved sabbatical after her five-medal haul at 2016 Olympics.
