A fabulous performance was presented by the Indian Women’s cricket team which led to the victorious gain on Pakistan at Providence Stadium, Guyana. India’s experienced batswoman Mithali Raj scored 56 off 47 balls as India cruised to win.

As India won the toss and decided to field against Pakistan, captain Javeria Khan and Ayesha Zafar opened the innings for Pak team. Arundhati Reddy gave a brilliant start for India as Ayesha departs for a duck.

Poonam Yadav and Dayalan Hemalatha took two wickets for India who pinned Pakistan down for the most part of their innings before allowing them to scramble a score of 133 for 7.

Even before facing the ball, 10 runs were in Indian scoreboard after the unprecedented docking penalty on Pakistan on account of their batswomen running on the danger of the pitch. India made a strong start with the openers Mithali and Smriti Mandhana with a 73 run-stand from 9.3 overs. Later the 18-year old Jemimah played vigorously but soon perished by Nida Dar in the 15th over.

As the veteran Mithali Raj smashes an aggressive half-century to help India register a seven-wicket win over the arch-rivals Pakistan, India established its supremacy of Group B pursuit of World T20 glory.
