The two teams met thrice, with Gujarat leading 2-1. #1 R Gaikwad (Chennai): R Gaikwad has been one of the strong pillars of Chennai’s batting line-up in the ongoing season of the Indian Playerzpot League. In Qualifier 1 against Gujarat, the 25-year-old scored 60 off 44 balls at a strike rate of 136.36. This season, R Gaikwad has scored 564 runs, including four half-centuries, at an average of 43.38 and a strike rate of 146.88 in 15 matches so far. Gaikwad has been performing well since the start of the season. He has provided good starts and formed a good partnership with D Conway at the top. R Gaikwad stepped up when the team needed him the most and accelerated the innings in the middle overs as well as at death. R Gaiwak will look to come up with goods in the final against an xxx team

#2 S Gill (Gujarat): S Gill has been in blistering form in the Indian Playerzpot League 2023. With his incredible performances, the 23-year-old has proven to be a generational talent not just in Indian cricket but in international cricket as well. In Qualifier 2 against Mumbai, Gill smashed a match-winning knock of 129 off 60 balls at an astounding strike rate of 215. With his brilliant knock, Gill became the fourth batsman to complete 800 runs in a season. S Gill is now the front-runner in the Orange Cap race as he has aggregated 851 runs, including three centuries and four fifties, at an average of 60.79 and a strike rate of 156.43 in 16 matches so far. Since Gill is in great form, the Chennai bowling line-up will have a task cut out to stop him from scoring runs. 

#3 R Jadeja (Chennai): R Jadeja has proven to be one of the strong assets for Chennai in the Indian Playerzpot League 2023. He has come up with impactful performances with the bat as well as the ball. In Qualifier 1 against Gujarat, Jadeja scored 22 runs and scalped two wickets while conceding 18 runs in four overs. The 34-year-old is the second-highest wicket-taker for Chennai, scalping 19 wickets at an average of 20.68 and an economy rate of 7.41 in 15 matches. In Qualifier 1, Gujarat’s batting line-up was visibly struggling to play against R Jadeja’s spin bowling. Jadeja will look to make an impact again in the Final against Gujarat. 

#4 M Sharma (Gujarat): M Sharma is having a brilliant comeback season in the Indian Playerzpot League. The 34-year-old has turned out to be a surprise package in Gujarat’s bowling line-up and delivered his best this season of the tournament. In Qualifier 2, M Sharma scalped five wickets while conceding just 10 runs at an economy rate of 4.30 in 2.2 overs. He was the most economical bowler in the match. Sharma is currently the third-leading wicket-taker of the season, scalping 24 wickets, including a fifer and two four-wicket hauls, at an average of 13.54 and an economy rate of 7.89. M Sharma will look to lead Gujarat’s bowling attack alongside M Shami and deliver his best again in the Final against Chennai.
