The Mumbai team will be taking on Hyderabad in match No.69 of the Indian Playerzpot League 2023. The five-time champions are in a pickle where their qualification to the knockout stages of the tournament hangs by the thread. Hyderabad are not in the race for the qualification but can still play a spoiler for Mumbai who are desperate for the two points.

Mumbai lost by a small margin against Lucknow but considering that now the qualification scenario will now depend on the net run rate which at the moment does not favour Mumbai. Being 5th in the table, R. Sharma & Co will need a secured 2 points, and that too by a big margin so they can bump up their net run rate which becomes crucial at this stage.

Players to watch out for

S. Yadav (Mumbai)

He is the dependable figure in the Mumbai lineup, better known for his out-of-the-box approach he is a lethal asset for the Mumbai team. He has scored a century already this season and he has hit the form at the right time. In the loss against Lucknow, he was perhaps unlucky in the dismissal which will further fuel his fire to perform in the next game. He has 486 runs in 13 games with an onus of adding more to this total.

P. Chawla (Mumbai)

Having his best-ever Indian Playerzpot season, the veteran spinner has been the main guy for Mumbai in terms of wicket-taking abilities. Considering the different pitch conditions across the tournaments have favoured the spinner, Chawla made sure he doubled down on the scarcity of wickets from his team. He has an impressive 20 wickets in 30 games, and placed 4th in the purple cap race. He may not be the most influential player but his performances this season tell otherwise.

I. Kishan (Mumbai)

The younger Indian opener has slowly but steadily has pulled his season back on track with some consistent run of performances. In a season where Mumbai’s skipper R. Sharma has yet to hit the ground running, it was paramount for I.Kishan to pull the weight of the team, which he has done in a few games. Playing perhaps their biggest game of the season, he will look to make a compelling impact on the result with his individual brilliance.

H. Klassen (Hyderabad)

It has been a below-par season once again for the Hyderabad team. They were struggling to find inspiration but in the last game against Bangalore, H. Klassen sure delivered on that particular promise. The wicketkeeper batter hit a stunning knock of 104 runs in 51 balls, although this was in a losing cause this did provide us with power-packed batting entertainment and nothing less will be expected in Hyderabad’s last game vs Mumbai.
