“Change the face of men’s health“ by the act of growing a mustache throughout the month of November 2018 to raise the money for the charity which is otherwise named as Movember is widely gaining popularity among men all around the world.

A close look at the faces of the New Zealand hockey players will reveal their solidarity to the Movember movement- all of them have grown a mustache. They intend to raise the awareness of men’s health issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention.

Movember which actually derived its origin from words ‘moustache’ and ‘November’ takes place every November and the hence the players will shave off their bristles on December first.

Jared Panchia, an Indian-origin Black Sticks midfielder said, they all unanimously decided to support the cause and will shave them off on the first day of December.

“Since it is for a noble cause, we didn’t think twice about it. It is quite common in New Zealand. People grow all weird shapes and sizes of the mustache. But we decided to keep it simple”, he added.

Indian sports stars like Shikar Dhawan and Ravindra Jadeja also supports the movement which is run by the Movember Foundation out of Melbourne, Australia.
