Head coach of Brazilian national football team, Tite has named Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar as the permanent captain, ahead of the friendly against the United States in New Jersey. The rotation policy was scrapped which previously saw a number of players like Thiago Silva, Miranda and Marcelo wearing the captaincy band during the World Cup 2018.

During the Rio, Neymar was crowned with the title of captain which he relinquished after the squad won the gold. He is a player who frequently face the criticism for his behaviour in the field. Brazil was crashed out of the Russian tour after the disastrous defeat against Belgium for 2-1 in the quarterfinals.

Neymar, however, downplayed the criticism saying,”I didn’t feel well to all those criticisms and it is better for me to do the talking in the field. ” About the captaincy, he said,” It’s a great honour to be named as the captain. I will do everything to fulfill my responsibilities and help the team to win”.

Although Tite is assured that Neymar is quite ready to take up the next step. Brazilians fans are eager to see the performance under the new leadership in the upcoming friendly in New Jersey and Maryland.
