The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The 16th edition of the tournament will take place from 31st March and the last league match will be played on 21st May. After a gap of three years, the home-and-away format will return in the upcoming edition of the Indian Cricket League. All 10 teams will play seven home and away matches during the league stage of the tournament. A total of 70 league matches will be played over 52 days in 12 venues.

Rajasthan Royals will begin its IPL 2023 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on 2nd April. RR had a great season in IPL 2022 as they reached the final of the tournament for the first time since 2008. However, Rajasthan lost to eventual champions Gujarat Titans. S. Sanju led Rajasthan Royals for the second IPL season on the trot. RR made some great signings in the last IPL auction including the likes of T. Boult, Y. Chahal, R. Ashwin, J. Buttler and to name a few. Chahal and Buttler were the highest wicket-taker and run-getter in IPL 2022, respectively.

Ahead of the IPL 2023, Rajasthan Royals made some changes in their squad while retaining key players from the previous season including Ashwin, Buttler, Chahal, T. Boult, D. Padikkal and a few others. The franchise signed J. Holder, A. Zampa, J. Root and other six players in order to strengthen their line-up. RR will look to have another great season with the sole aim of winning their second IPL title.

Rajasthan Royals are placed in Group A alongside MI, KKR, DC and LSG. The team will play against the other five teams in Group A twice and the remaining four matches will be played against the teams in the same group.
