As Manchester United heads to the second leg of the Champions League 2018-19 quarter-final against Barcelona on Tuesday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be back at Camp Nou 20 years after scoring a last-gasp winner there for Manchester United in the final against Bayern Munich.

Having lost 1-0 against Messi’s Barcelona last week at Old Trafford, Manchester United has a tough task ahead and yet that was the scoreline facing United in 1999 after Mario Basler had put Bayern in front in the sixth minute which turned to be the most dramatic soccer match of a generation.

With two critical goals in the injury time, one from Teddy Sheringham and a second from Solskjaer, United won the battle. During his tenure of four months as manager, the former Norway striker made sure the memories stay fresh to climb the insurmountable tasks ahead.

“The memories from Paris will help the players. It shows me we can turn things around”, Solskjaer said on Monday before leading the training at Camp Nou.

“People have said that it has to be our year because of 20 years ago, I used to play with No 20 and we are back at Camp Nou. But to go through we have to deserve it. We can’t just say that we are relying on faith only.”
