The International Cricket Council approved USA Cricket as its 105th member on Tuesday, just over a year after it was formed.

It was massive day of pride for the United States when USA Cricket’s application to become the 93rd Associate member in accordance with the ICC constitution was approved by ICC members and implemented with immediate effect.

This move allows them to obtain ICC development funding and sanction international and domestic cricket in USA. The USA Cricket Association had previously been an associate member of the ICC but was suspended for governance issue

Speaking about this gigantic leap for US Cricket, ICC Chief executive Dave Richardson said,” This is the culmination of a great deal of hard work and I would like to congratulate the chair of USA Cricket, Paraag Marathe and the Board on this important milestone and wish them all the very best”.

USA Cricket Board chair, Paraag Marathe replied saying,” USA Cricket was established to bring together the cricket community in the United States, develop and unlock the sport’s huge potential for growth. This is a significant staging post on that journey”.

“We do not take this responsibility lightly and pledge to lead this great game with integrity, passion and tireless work ethic that is a foundation for global cricket”.
