Game Rules

Objective

To predict the number of tricks (out of 13) you can win in the round.
To win at least the number of tricks you have bid and collect the maximum points in the round.

What Is A Trick?

The object of play is to win tricks. A trick consists of four cards, one played from the hand of each player in rotation. The first card played to a trick is the lead.

How To Win A Trick?

If all the cards played are of the same suit, the highest card wins the trick.
If spade is thrown to trump, the highest spade wins the trick.

Card Play Restrictions

If you have a card of the suit thrown in the first card of the trick, then you must play that card.
You should always head the trick. Which means if you are in a position to attempt to win the trick based on the cards already played, then you must do so.

Example

If the highest card played before your turn was a 10 of hearts (assuming everyone plays hearts) and you have a card of the suit hearts higher than 10, then you must play one of those cards.
If you don't have the suit led and you have a spade higher than the spades played (if any), then you have to play the highest spade.

Scoring System

If you make less number of tricks than you bid, then the number of points awarded will be (-ve)(bid amount). eg. If you bid 4 and make 3, points-> -4.
If you make the same number of tricks that you bid, then the number of points awarded will be equal to the bid amount. eg. If you bid 4 and make 4, points-> 4.
If you make more number of tricks than you bid, then the number of points awarded will be bid amount +0.1 (difference). eg. If you bid 4 and make 5, points-> 4+(0.1)*(5-4)= 4.1 .
